Procedure for Requesting Public Records [Resolution No. 1917, 9/24/2022]
Coal Creek Utility District is committed to transparency and providing access to public records in accordance with the Public Records Act (RCW Ch. 42.56). Below are the steps to request public records from our organization:

- In Person: Visit our office during normal business hours (Monday to Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., excluding legal holidays).
- By Mail: Send your request to Coal Creek Utility District at 6801 132nd PL SE, Newcastle, WA 98059.
- By Email: Email your request to [email protected].
- Your name and contact information (address, phone number, and email).
- A clear description of the records you are requesting. Be as specific as possible to help us locate the records efficiently.
2. Acknowledgment of Request
Within five business days of receiving your request, we will:
- Provide the requested records, or
- Acknowledge receipt of the request and provide an estimate of the time required to respond, or
- Deny the request with an explanation of the reason for denial.

4. Costs of Providing Copies
There is no fee for inspecting public records. The charges for copies are as follows:
- Standard black-and-white photocopies: $0.15 per page.
- Non-standard copies, off-site vendor copying, long-distance fax transmission, mailing, and certified copies: Actual costs.
