- Land for the new building was purchased 12 years before the District was able to move in. This long-term planning serves our ratepayers well.
- The building took approximately one year to build, from groundbreaking to dedication. It was completed under budget.
- The high-efficiency energy systems included in the building should result in significant energy savings.
- Civic community organizations and governmental agencies may use the Distict's meeting room for meetings.
- The District's communications system includes its own 2-way radio, cell phones, county-wide communications system (800mz) and land lines. All operating systems will be available to help during emergency situations.
- The building meets or exceeds all current fire and earthquake standards, and has been planned to serve as an emergency shelter for District staff so that they would be able to remain available to serve customers.
- The District has planned the building to accommodate the full build-out of the District. The old facility, due to regulations, permits and site constraints was unable to be expanded or modified to meet growth and regulatory changes.
